Lokesh Kanagaraj is undoubtedly among the most prominent directors in contemporary Indian cinema. With only five films to his credit, he has attained a level of stardom that many filmmakers aspire to achieve. His most recent project, the film Leo featuring Thalapathy Vijay, garnered significant praise, although it also faced criticism for its execution in the latter half.

In a recent media interaction at the Chennai Comic Con event, Lokesh Kanagaraj addressed several inquiries about his future projects, including a question concerning the potential for a sequel to Leo.

What are Lokesh Kanagaraj's comments regarding Leo 2?

Lokesh stated, "The prospect of Leo 2 is certainly feasible, contingent upon specific circumstances aligning. Currently, his (Thalapathy Vijay) aspirations differ, and I commend him for that. There remains a potential for Leo 2, and I will proceed with it if and when he reaches out to me."

In addressing the feedback regarding the latter part of Leo, Lokesh remarked, "I am aware of the critiques concerning the second half of Leo, and I will consider this feedback for my upcoming project with Rajinikanth."

Lokesh Kanagaraj's forthcoming slate of films.

Following the success of Leo, Lokesh Kanagaraj's upcoming project features the esteemed Superstar Rajinikanth, tentatively titled Thalaivar171. In various interviews, Lokesh has indicated that this collaboration will be an experimental venture, transcending conventional filmmaking norms.

Subsequently, Lokesh is anticipated to commence work on Kaithi 2, starring Karthi, before progressing to Vikram 2, and potentially a standalone film with Suriya, provisionally named ‘Rolex’.

Lokesh has consistently stated his intention to direct only ten films before retiring from directing. At a recent event, he reiterated that he envisions completing approximately 4-5 more films before temporarily stepping away from the director's role. Regarding his unfulfilled project Irumbu Kai Mayavi, he mentioned that he plans to approach its production at his own pace. Originally, Lokesh was slated to direct Irumbu Kai Mayavi with Suriya many years ago but opted out, feeling that undertaking such a monumental task would be too ambitious for his initial endeavor.

Leo 2 has been officially announced! The film is set to enter the 1000-crore club, featuring Thalapathy Vijay alongside director Lokesh Kanagaraj, who has confirmed, "It’s definitely on!"

Despite not garnering critical acclaim, Leo achieved a worldwide gross of 607.66 crore at the box office.

Those who believed that Lokesh Kanagaraj had concluded his work with "Leo" were mistaken, as he has now officially confirmed the development of "Leo 2." The character of Leo will make a return, prompting Thalapathy Vijay's fans to flock to theaters once more to celebrate their beloved superstar.

While the climax of "Leo" suggested the possibility of a sequel, the film's mixed reviews led some to speculate that the story might not continue. However, Lokesh's confident announcement of the sequel indicates that he possesses a compelling narrative that could potentially generate significant box office success.

Despite not receiving widespread critical acclaim, "Leo" achieved a remarkable worldwide gross of 607.66 crore. This financial success was a key factor in reuniting Lokesh and Vijay, as they aim to reach the 1000 crore milestone with "Leo 2."

At a recent event, when inquired about the progress of "Leo 2," Lokesh Kanagaraj stated, “Leo 2 is definitely on; I’ll start to write after #Thalaivar171 & Kaithi 2. Definitely… It’s always fun to work with Vijay Anna.” This announcement is sure to elate many fans of Thalapathy Vijay.

"Leo" garnered 342 crore at the Indian box office, yet it fell short of surpassing Rajinikanth’s "Jailer." Although it exceeded expectations globally, the film did not manage to outdo "Jailer" in India.

In India, "Jailer" achieved a net collection of 345 crores, with "Leo" missing this mark by a mere 3 crores. Currently, "Jailer" stands as the second highest net grosser in Kollywood, following "2.0." On a global scale, "Leo" ranks as the second highest grosser in Kollywood history, trailing only behind "2.0," with a gross of 655.44 crores.

Best Shopping Apps

Ideal for: A vast array of affordable products readily available.

Details: Temu appears to have emerged unexpectedly as a leading contender in the shopping category on the App Store. Similar to Amazon, it functions as an online marketplace featuring an extensive range of products from millions of vendors. A brief exploration of the app or website reveals an impressive assortment of items priced under $10, many from brands that may be unfamiliar to consumers. At the time of this writing, one notable "lightning deal" on Temu showcased a pair of men's casual cargo pants for only $9.77. However, the durability of such inexpensive apparel is uncertain, and one should anticipate frequent price changes, particularly after a lightning deal concludes.

Temu provides free shipping on the majority of items (though a minimum order requirement may apply), and its website indicates that shipping times can vary from six to 20 days, likely due to many products being shipped directly from overseas factories or warehouses.

Considerations: While low-cost items may be appealing, they often raise concerns regarding quality, potentially resulting in higher expenses over time. Reports of delayed shipments have been widely reported in the media and on the Better Business Bureau's website. Nevertheless, Temu stands as a legitimate shopping platform that has garnered significant popularity.
