Colors of the iPhone 16: A comprehensive overview of all the speculated hues for each model.
Selecting the color of your new iPhone is one of the most significant choices you will encounter. Given that you are likely to retain this device for a minimum of one year, and potentially much longer, it is reasonable to expect that you will view it numerous times each day.
If you are contemplating an upgrade to the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, or iPhone 16 Pro Max later this year, it would be prudent to begin considering your preferred color options.
While Apple has yet to officially announce the available colors, various leaks and rumors provide a substantial indication of the probable hues, which are detailed below.
Historically, it is likely that the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus will be offered in identical color options, with the speculated choices being as follows:
Black
Numerous sources have indicated that the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus could be offered in a black color variant. Both the well-known leaker Ming-Chi Kuo and another less prominent source have suggested the existence of a black iPhone 16 model. Additionally, a leaked image of dummy units for the iPhone 16 displays a black hue, as illustrated above.
The color black is a highly favored and prevalent choice for smartphones, and it is also one of the options available for the iPhone 15. Therefore, it is plausible that a similar color option will be introduced for the iPhone 16.
Green
The color green has been referenced by the three aforementioned sources, with one source noting that the green variant of the iPhone 16 may incorporate color-infused glass, similar to the color application seen in the iPhone 15.
This is expected to result in a rather matte, subdued hue, potentially resembling the green iPhone 15 depicted above. However, a leaked image presented earlier indicates a deeper shade of green. Regardless, green remains an atypical color option for smartphones, and we would welcome Apple's decision to reintroduce it.
Pink
Reports from the same three sources have also mentioned the possibility of a pink iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus. This color is already available for the iPhone 15, as illustrated above.
While it is uncertain whether the same hue of pink will be featured this year, a leaked image (shown earlier) suggests a slightly altered shade. Nevertheless, there remains a possibility that it will resemble the previous version.
Blue
The color blue has also been referenced by the same group of sources, and it is available for the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus models. If the hue remains consistent with this year's offerings, it is likely to be quite light; however, there is a possibility of encountering a more vibrant or deeper blue. Depending on the specific shade, this could serve as a sophisticated substitute for black or as a lively, whimsical choice.
White
The last color for the iPhone 16 referenced by various sources is white, a color that, like black, is widely favored and commonly selected for smartphones, albeit somewhat lacking in excitement.
Nonetheless, the iPhone 15 does not come in white, making this a potential new color option for the upcoming model. It is worth noting that previous iPhone models have featured white or off-white hues, such as the iPhone 14 in Starlight, as illustrated above.
Yellow
One of the aforementioned sources has suggested yellow as a potential color option; however, we are less certain about its likelihood compared to the previously mentioned alternatives.
The limited endorsement from a single source raises doubts, particularly as they proposed seven shades, which exceeds Apple's typical offerings.
Nonetheless, it is worth noting that there is a yellow variant of the iPhone 15 displayed above. This particular shade is a light yellow, but it remains uncertain whether the iPhone 16 will feature a similar hue, assuming it is indeed available.
Purple
It has been reported that the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus may feature a purple color option; however, this information originates from a single source with limited credibility. Therefore, it is advisable to remain skeptical about the likelihood of this color being available, although it could present an intriguing choice. The iPhone 15 does not come in purple, while the iPhone 14 does offer a purple variant, as illustrated above.
Similar to the standard models, it is anticipated that the Pro versions will also be released in comparable color options. Nonetheless, the color selection for the Pro models is expected to differ from that of the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus, as indicated below.
Space Black
The iPhone 16 Pro series is expected to feature a black hue, potentially branded as Space Black, as indicated by various sources. Recently, multiple additional sources have also referenced this black color.
This new shade may resemble the Black Titanium finish of the iPhone 15 Pro or the Space Black variant of the iPhone 14 Pro, both of which are illustrated above. Alternatively, it could bear a resemblance to the leaked image of the iPhone 16 Pro Max shown above. Regardless of the specific black tone, it is anticipated to present a sophisticated and subtle choice.
White or silver
All sources that have referenced a black iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max have also indicated the presence of a white variant, although Ming-Chi Kuo suggests it could potentially be silver instead. However, a leaked image of the iPhone 16 Pro Max dummy units, which is displayed above, reveals a clearly white hue.
The iPhone 15 Pro in White Titanium and the iPhone 14 Pro in silver are shown above, and if this new color is indeed real, it may closely resemble one of these existing shades.
Similar to the black variant, both white and silver colors are widely available and appear to be quite popular, making this option likely to attract considerable interest.
Gray / Natural Titanium
The same references also indicate the presence of a gray hue, potentially labeled as Natural Titanium. If this is the case, it may bear a resemblance to the iPhone 15 Pro in Natural Titanium, as illustrated above.
This shade is relatively light gray, which is logical considering that the Black Titanium variant of the line is a darker gray; thus, Apple would likely aim to differentiate the two choices. Nevertheless, a recently leaked image of the iPhone 16 Pro Max (shown earlier) does reveal a somewhat darker alternative.
Gold / Desert Titanium
There have been discussions regarding potential color options for the iPhone 16 Pro, which may include a shade resembling brown or bronze, as illustrated in the image of the dummy units above. Alternatively, it could be a dark gold hue, possibly referred to as 'Desert Titanium' or 'Gold Titanium,' as indicated in a leaked image of the housing for one of the iPhone 16 Pro cameras shown above.
Not all sources reporting on the color variations for the iPhone 16 Pro Max have referenced this particular shade; some have instead suggested a 'rose' option, which is elaborated upon below. However, more recent leaks, including those from Mark Gurman—who is known for his reliable Apple insights—indicate a stronger likelihood of a gold variant being introduced for the iPhone 16 Pro.
This proposed color is quite intriguing and represents a departure from the typical palette that Apple tends to utilize.
Rose
Among the various rumored colors for the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max, rose stands out as the sole option that may introduce a hint of color, with the possible exception of gold mentioned earlier.
This particular hue is not available for the iPhone 15 Pro or Pro Max, making it a distinctive choice in that regard.
While some iPhones can be found in pink or rose gold variants, such as the pink iPhone 15, the rose shade referenced in the leaks is anticipated to differ in appearance due to its unique designation.
However, it is unlikely that both gold and rose will be offered, as some sources indicate one while others suggest the other.
If we were to make an educated guess, we would lean towards the likelihood of gold being featured instead of rose, given that the recent leaks have predominantly focused on gold, and one source that mentioned the rose option provided an image that appeared more gold in tone.
